Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement occupational therapy programs as prescribed by physicians, tailored to each patient's individual needs and goals.
- Select and apply therapeutic activities based on patient history, evaluation findings, and goal-oriented treatment planning.
- Collaborate with and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in the delivery of patient care.
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and billing accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on follow-up care and home therapy programs.
- Provide care in compliance with applicable hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program; minimum Bachelor's degree required for those who graduated prior to 1/1/2002; Master's degree required for those who graduated after 1/1/2002.
- Must hold or be eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the applicable state within 90 days of employment.
- CPR certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Clinical experience from an accredited educational program required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy preferred.
- Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association preferred.
- Additional relevant clinical work experience beyond educational requirements is a plus.
