Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee a comprehensive activity program addressing patients'/residents' social, recreational, physical, educational, and spiritual needs
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized activity programs to support patients'/residents' dignity, mental capacity, and physical functioning
- Foster patient/resident feelings of usefulness, self-confidence, self-respect, and empowerment through meaningful activity
- Manage budget development and monitoring for the activity program
- Supervise, direct, and train activity program staff
- Lead performance improvement initiatives related to the activity program
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Activities Coordinator involving planning, assessing, and coordinating a comprehensive activity program in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care setting
- Knowledge of human anatomy and administrative practices related to patient/resident activity programs
- Familiarity with treatment procedures in a hospital or medically oriented institution or program
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Workers
- Valid Driver's License required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with budget preparation and financial monitoring in a healthcare setting
- Prior experience planning and conducting staff training programs
