Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Weekends Required (every third Friday, Saturday, and a scheduled Sunday every three weeks)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients and families during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases of childbirth
- Perform newborn care and assessments within a 6-bed LDRP and 3-bed Postpartum unit
- Utilize Electronic Fetal Monitoring equipment and interpret fetal heart rate patterns
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical record system
- Operate unit equipment including Fetal Warmers and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Work collaboratively within a team environment; a minimum of two nurses are required in the facility at all times
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 3–5 years of OB nursing experience
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Mandatory attendance required for all 7 days of orientation (Monday–Friday week 1, Monday–Tuesday week 2, 8-hour days)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- Familiarity with Indiana Perinatal Standards for staffing and patient care
- Experience with Epic EMR in a labor and delivery or postpartum setting
