Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Step-Down) setting under the supervision of unit leadership
- Monitor and assess patients requiring an intermediate level of care between ICU and general medical-surgical floors
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established nursing protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate clinical interventions in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing, eligible to practice in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a PCU, IMC, or Step-Down unit
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Willingness and ability to fulfill travel assignment requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or Step-Down environment
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
