Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:30) | Weekdays, Every Other Weekend, Holidays Within Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patient populations including neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath
• Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia and emergency management
• Perform and interpret EKG rhythms including interval measurements and complex rhythm identification
• Float to Stepdown Unit and, as needed, to ED or Med-Surg to care for ICU-level patients being held
• Complete required pre-start orientation modules prior to start date

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submittal — no exceptions
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong neurology experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, and stroke care
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records — no exceptions
• Must pass a telemetry/EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start; no remediation available

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
