Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required | No On-Call

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular-focused ICU setting, including pre- and post-cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac intervention patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure, utilizing advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz
• Operate and manage advanced cardiac support devices including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, LVAD/RVAD, and CVVHD/CRRT
• Perform comprehensive IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, port access, and blood product administration
• Manage thermoregulation and care for patients following valve replacement/repair and CABG procedures
• Float to affiliated ICU units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Passing score of 80% or higher on EKG competency test (must be submitted at time of application)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ECMO management
• Experience managing care of LVAD patients
• Charge nurse experience (please note if applicable on submission)
