Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 3x12 Hours (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekends Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medically complex, critically ill patients in a high-acuity Medical ICU setting
- Manage patients with conditions including respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, ARDS, DKA, CVA post-tPA, cardiac arrest with TTM, and COVID
- Support and assist with bedside procedures including central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
- Maintain standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1, with potential to increase when boarding patients are present
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for all charting and documentation
- Float to telemetry or like units within the facility as census requires
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State RN license or Compact RN license (must be in-hand)
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility (no local candidates)
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or similarly high-acuity environment
- Familiarity with noninvasive and mechanical ventilation management
- Comfort with floating to telemetry or other like units as needed
