Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC / Med-Surg

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a long-term acute care / Med-Surg setting with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Perform and manage PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care, and tracheostomy patient management
• Titrate drips including Heparin as ordered by the care team
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy staff on patients requiring ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
• Monitor telemetry in coordination with monitor technicians stationed in the ICU; interpret and respond to findings as appropriate
• Float to ICU or Acute Rehab units as needed based on staffing and qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to titrate IV drips including Heparin
• Must pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred but not required
• Prior experience in a Med-Surg, LTAC, or similar acute care environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and housewide tele pack systems
