Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–20 week assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias, including remote monitoring, and respond appropriately with Rapid Response/Code team protocols
• Manage IV access including peripheral lines, central lines, PICC lines, and phlebotomy; administer blood products and medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Perform wound care, wound vac management, ostomy care, feeding tube management, and chest tube monitoring
• Support non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning
• Float to a nearby campus as required and participate in storm, hurricane, or disaster response teams as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and/or Telemetry nursing experience
• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to work every other weekend, holidays (minimum 2 of 3 major holidays), and during catastrophic or disaster events

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification; experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, arterial blood gas interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Background in post-cardiac surgery, post-angiogram, post-MI, CVA, bariatric surgery, or thoracic surgery nursing
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation, port access and management, and substance withdrawal protocols
• Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital background, and proficiency with electronic documentation
