Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment | Projected Start: June 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients' skin for surgery and assist in pre-operative patient care in accordance with facility standards, demonstrating sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
  • Establish and maintain the sterile field; pass instruments and sutures to the physician and assist as directed throughout surgical procedures.
  • Set up the Operating Room by preparing tables, instruments, and supplies according to case type, utilizing physician preference cards as a baseline.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and actively monitor for potential breaches; adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions and OR sanitation policies at all times.
  • Identify, handle, and care for biological specimens; transport patients to and from the Operating Room and position patients appropriately for the type of surgery.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise across surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment; maintain and update physician preference cards to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required within 180 days of graduation, or active LVN/LPN license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Ability to fulfill weekend and on-call requirements.
  • Willingness to float to other locations as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience preferred.
  • Proficiency scrubbing in 3 or more specialty areas such as Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, or Robotics highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with facility policies regarding decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments and supplies.
