Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients on a mixed-acuity oncology/BMT unit, including PCU and medical-surgical patient populations
- Care for patients with diagnoses including leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, aplastic anemia, amyloidosis, and related hematologic conditions
- Support and monitor patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants as well as CAR-T therapy
- Perform telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, blood product administration, and feeding tube care
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical and oncology nursing experience
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
- Demonstrated skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, central line blood draws, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Hematology/oncology (Heme Onc) nursing experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
