Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 7:30 AM–4:00 PM); weekend coverage is 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with reduced weekday hours surrounding the weekend; no call required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
- Operate ultrasound equipment and select appropriate transducers, settings, and techniques to ensure optimal image quality
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the exam, obtaining relevant medical history, and positioning patients correctly
- Recognize, document, and communicate normal and abnormal sonographic findings to radiologists and physicians in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate patient records including procedure details and technical data while adhering to HIPAA and all applicable regulatory standards
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment and comply with infection control and patient safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Active ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) required
- Experience performing general ultrasound exams (vascular experience alone is not sufficient)
- Ability to perform interventions and communicate effectively with patients and families across all age groups including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience participating in quality assurance programs and continuing education initiatives
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to complete procedures accurately and within department standards
