Contract | Night Shift (4x12 Hours, 18:45–07:15) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, delivering safe, team-oriented care
- Utilize facility systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
- Float to other units as required, with travelers floating first per unit policy
- Fulfill weekend shift requirements, including approximately every other weekend
- Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during declared catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Commitment to a teamwork approach to patient care with a strong focus on patient safety
- Willingness to complete required non-billable orientation modules (approximately 2–10 hours) and a 24-hour unit orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
- Prior neurology nursing experience
- Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
