Contract | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients with a focus on comfort, dignity, and symptom management in an inpatient hospice unit, with potential to support in-home hospice visits as census demands
• Administer medications and interventions per physician orders while continuously assessing patient needs
• Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to CNAs, delegating appropriate nursing support tasks including ADLs, hygiene, and mobility while monitoring documentation for accuracy
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) rounds and contribute to care planning, symptom management strategies, and family education
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families and caregivers navigating end-of-life care
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and communications in compliance with regulatory and quality standards while adhering to infection control procedures

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license – Compact or Montana state license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg
• Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient hospice or palliative care setting
• Experience conducting in-home hospice visits
• Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and real-time feedback to CNA staff in a team-oriented environment
