Contract | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Day Shift) and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift) | Must be willing to work both day and night shifts with possible weekends | 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week guaranteed) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients with a focus on comfort and symptom management, including administering medications and interventions per physician orders.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to CNAs, delegating appropriate nursing support tasks while ensuring safety, compassion, and adherence to patient care plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) rounds and contribute to care planning, symptom management strategies, and family education.
• Provide emotional support, guidance, and education to families and caregivers navigating the physical and emotional challenges of end-of-life care.
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and communications in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff; role is primarily inpatient-based with potential to support in-home hospice visits as census demands.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license – Compact or Montana state license required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg nursing.
• Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
