Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3×12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to a broad range of adult and pediatric patients across medical, behavioral health, and critical care presentations
• Perform competent IV insertion, cardiac monitoring, and procedural sedation support
• Deliver stroke and sepsis care in accordance with established emergency protocols
• Manage emergency stabilization independently following a brief orientation period
• Operate Alaris pumps and standard emergency department equipment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients
• Current Connecticut RN license or valid compact license
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS and PALS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC certification and CPI/NCI or equivalent de-escalation training
• Previous experience with Epic electronic health records
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Familiarity with Alaris infusion pumps and standard ED equipment
