Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology, including quality assurance, preventative maintenance scheduling, and adherence to all FDA mammography guidelines.
- Perform mammography and other imaging exams in accordance with department protocols or in coordination with the Radiologist, while practicing radiation safety and adhering to ALARA standards.
- Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity using two forms of identification, review medical history, obtain informed consent, and ensure all required documentation and prior studies are available prior to Radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, including procedure charges and supply documentation, and uphold a structured reporting system for audit tracking and workflow resolution.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate service as needed, and operate all equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Assist with training and cross-training of imaging staff, support clerical duties and patient transportation as needed, and demonstrate flexibility across modalities, schedules, and on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of start.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, including experience in CT and/or MRI.
- Cross-training in additional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, or DEXA.
- Experience with electronic health record systems including PACS and RIS/HIS.
