Medical Lab Technologist – Weekend Night Shift

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift | Friday – Sunday, 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. | 36 hours/week | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across all core lab disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, urinalysis, coagulation, and serology
• Analyze, verify, and report test results including critical values, and communicate findings to Emergency Department providers, nursing staff, and clinical team members
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including the QuidelOrtho Vitros 7600 and/or Vitros 5600
• Perform and document quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and corrective actions in accordance with regulatory and safety standards
• Utilize the Laboratory Information System and Cerner EHR for documentation and result reporting
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as needed, and support urgent and emergent testing needs including blood bank in a timely and accurate manner

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field with completed clinical training required
• ASCP MLS/MT or AMT certification required
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of five years of recent hospital-based generalist laboratory experience strongly preferred; strong recent generalist experience required
• Previous successful travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers and new graduates will not be considered
• Recent hands-on experience with the QuidelOrtho Vitros 7600 and/or Vitros 5600 required
• Cerner EHR experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience working independently in a Critical Access Hospital or rural hospital environment
• Recent hands-on experience specifically with the QuidelOrtho Vitros 7600
• Prior independent night shift or weekend shift experience in a hospital laboratory setting
