Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors into individualized care planning.
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, and conduct ongoing assessment and documentation of patient response.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching, coordination with case management, and timely execution of discharge orders.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky at time of submittal.
• Minimum of two (2) years of cardiovascular nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) or higher.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
• Proficiency with clinical computer systems and electronic health record applications.
