Contract | Travel | Days | Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM | 40 Hours Per Week Guaranteed | 8-Week Assignment | Projected Start: June 23, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative nursing care in a cardiovascular preop unit with a 1:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity setting
- Perform large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, skin assessment, and medication administration
- Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
- Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
- Utilize GE Carescape monitoring systems and Fuji ultrasound equipment; document in Cerner
- Collaborate with interdepartmental team including CNCs, unit secretary, and management shared with CVOR
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Critical care experience is required
- Proficiency with BCMA and electronic documentation (Cerner preferred)
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with interdepartmental teams
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior preoperative nursing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical workflows and CVOR support
- Experience with arterial line, central line, and epidural assistance procedures
