Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with cancer diagnoses, including endometrial, bladder, renal, ovarian, and cervical cancers, addressing both physical and emotional needs.
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and monitor patients for adverse reactions; participate in clinical trials and assist with data collection and documentation.
- Perform specialized procedures including brachytherapy, neobladder care, feeding tube management, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance.
- Monitor telemetry readings, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, utilizing rapid response teams as needed.
- Implement and maintain infection prevention protocols and patient fall management strategies to ensure a safe care environment.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; valid compact or state license required at time of submission.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- Experience with oncology-specific procedures including chemotherapy administration and brachytherapy.
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy certification preferred.
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic health records system.
- Demonstrated involvement in clinical trials and research documentation.
