Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care on a Medical Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring capabilities
- Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
- Perform and oversee clinical skills including central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, port access, and IV insertion
- Operate and manage specialized equipment including telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
- Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed based on staffing priorities
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission; must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Current BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Minimum of high-acuity PCU patient experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, rapid response utilization, heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management
- Experience with respiratory support modalities including external CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and ABG interpretation
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of oncology nursing experience preferred, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, phlebotomy, and surgical drain management
- Familiarity with non-invasive airway management techniques
