Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU / IMC / Med-Surg setting with an average census of 8 patients across 12 beds plus 4 ICU rooms
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–5 (IMC/PCU 1:3–4; ICU 1:3; MS 1:5) utilizing a team nursing model with RN and LPN collaboration
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Levo, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and other pressors as appropriate to unit level
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently, as remote tele monitoring supports but RNs retain responsibility for strip interpretation
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation using Cerner EMR
• Participate in flexible scheduling to fill gaps in permanent staffing, including potential charge nurse responsibilities and floating to other areas such as the ED

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience (Med-Tele experience alone is not sufficient) or prior ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to titrate drips and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must clock in and out on-site at the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers will be considered
• Willingness to float to other areas including the ED for tasking or holding patients
• Comfort stepping into a charge nurse role when requested
