Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Cardiac)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with occasional flex to 1:6
• Perform cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Manage cardiovascular patients including post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery
• Administer and monitor IV therapy including heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), vasoactive drips (no titration), blood product administration, and PCA
• Provide respiratory care including management of chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, and non-invasive airway management
• Fulfill holiday shift and Charge RN assignments as needed, and complete required weekend shifts per the facility's scheduling period

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with cardiac experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency in telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and medical-surgical settings
• Experience with central lines, PICC lines, port access, peripheral IV placement, and pre/post hemodialysis management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with sheath removal following cardiac procedures
• Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
