Surgical Technologist – OR Tech

Contract | Days | Onsite | Self-scheduling available; block scheduling considered but not guaranteed. Weeknight call approximately 5–6 shifts per 6-week schedule; weekend call (Saturday/Sunday, 48-hour call) approximately every 5th–6th weekend; holiday requirement is call only. Call response time: 30 minutes.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a high-volume OR environment handling 12–15 cases per day across 6 operating suites
• Support a broad range of surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Urology, GYN, Colorectal, ENT, Plastics, Cardiovascular, and DaVinci Robotics
• Participate in weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call rotations as scheduled
• Adhere to all facility dress code requirements including hospital-provided scrubs and dedicated OR footwear
• Complete a unit-specific orientation of 3–5 shifts prior to independent assignment

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Active Illinois Surgical Technologist license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Demonstrated experience in General, Orthopedic, and Neurosurgery — candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Ability to meet a 30-minute call response time requirement
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Robotic surgery experience, specifically with Mako and DaVinci platforms
• Experience working in a high-volume, multi-specialty OR setting
