Travel Pharmacy Technician

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 5x8-hour shifts including weekends | Start Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, including mixing IV additive solutions using aseptic technique with a laminar air flow hood
• Fill medication orders accurately, prepare unit-of-use dosages, and apply correct labels to bottles and containers
• Prepare intravenous (IV) packs, deliver IVs to proper locations, and maintain the IV refrigerator temperature log
• Process and record medication and equipment dispensed to patients, compute charges, and enter data into the computer system
• Receive, store, and rotate incoming supplies; restock shelves; and maintain accurate inventory records
• Clean equipment and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods; properly dispose of non-recyclable solutions and recycle product as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy Technician (OK BOPT) license — must be provided at time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association — must be provided at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Pharmacy Technician experience in a hospital setting
• Ability to calculate appropriate medication doses for Adult and Geriatric patient populations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel pharmacy technician experience
• Familiarity with hospital-based electronic medication records and pharmacy information systems
