Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients on a surgical step-down unit
- Monitor and manage patients ranging from 17–24 hours post-surgery, including fresh post-operative cases transferred from PACU
- Care for patients following procedures such as carotid endarterectomy, femoral endovascular repair, and endovascular AAA repair
- Perform continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition
- Float to other units and campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
- Complete required pre-assignment modules and orientation activities prior to contract start
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown, cardiac telemetry, or progressive care unit
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
- Ability to complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- Must meet facility travel distance eligibility requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong cardiac telemetry experience in an adult acute care setting
- Familiarity with post-operative care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients
- Experience working in a high-acuity surgical step-down environment
