Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4x12-hour shifts | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias, including remote telemetry monitoring
• Manage IV therapy including peripheral lines, central lines, PICC lines, and administer blood products, heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Perform wound care, wound vac management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and chest tube care
• Provide non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Float to other units as required and participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification; experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, or post-MI care
• Experience with tracheostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, accessing/managing ports, and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Familiarity with CVA management, substance withdrawal, bariatric surgery, and pre/post thoracic surgery care
• Previous charge nurse experience, electronic documentation proficiency, and community hospital background
