Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an intensive care unit setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing complex diagnoses including sepsis, DKA, COPD, and heart failure
• Perform and manage invasive monitoring including arterial lines, central lines, and central venous pressure monitoring
• Manage ventilated patients including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, suctioning, and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, administer continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and emergency medications
• Assist with special procedures including central line insertion, chest tube insertion/removal, and invasive monitoring
• Float to MedSurg as needed and maintain compliance with infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in medical ICU skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, TPN/lipids, phlebotomy, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR communication framework
• Ability to complete approximately 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules prior to first day of work

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in Cardiovascular ICU, Neuro ICU, or Surgical ICU settings
• Familiarity with PICC line management, thermoregulation protocols, and post-cardiac surgery care (not directly from the OR)
• Previous charge nurse experience and/or community hospital background
• Experience with GI surgery patients
