Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Full-Time | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiovascular surgery stepdown unit serving CV surgery, vascular surgery, and overflow medical cardiology patients
- Manage complex post-surgical patients including those recovering from open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic procedures, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies
- Perform and oversee epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management (including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, amiodarone, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine)
- Monitor and interpret telemetry for a patient assignment of up to 1:5 ratio
- Document accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float as needed to stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding units per facility guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Stepdown experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery patient population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) within the past year
- CVICU experience
