Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy accurately and with minimal supervision, ensuring dose prescriptions and signed consent forms are complete prior to initiating treatment.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for each patient per Radiation Oncologist-approved prescriptions, including immobilization devices, field sizes, treatment distances, and lead protection devices.
  • Maintain visual and audio communication with patients throughout treatment, observe for unusual reactions, and report findings to the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Accurately maintain patient treatment charts, therapeutic dosages, and documentation in accordance with billing procedures and departmental policies.
  • Assist in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures, including simulation, contour-taking, and ensuring portal verification films are reviewed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Participate in and document quality assurance management activities, including weekly SSD checks and diode readings, under the direction of the Physicist.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education accredited radiology program or equivalent.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Active New Mexico state licensure required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in radiation therapy.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Two to five years of clinical radiation therapy experience.
  • Experience with IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) techniques.
  • Experience with LDR (Low-Dose Rate) and/or HDR (High-Dose Rate) brachytherapy procedures.
