Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams on adult and pediatric patients
- Coordinate activities with interrelated hospital departments, including scheduling exams, transporting patients, and ensuring accurate billing entry
- Assist cardiologists during exam dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent diagnostic information
- Monitor and respond to patient needs during exams; report changes in patient condition to the physician or nurse in charge
- Maintain quality control of equipment operation and examination quality; coordinate repair services as needed
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities at the departmental, interdepartmental, and facility-wide levels; share on-call responsibility for emergency echo exams outside of regular hours
Required Qualifications
- A.R.D.M.S. or CCI registered, registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required
- Active State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of echocardiography experience
- Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions with strong manual dexterity for performing echocardiograms
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two-year allied health education program in a patient-care-related field (e.g., diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or related discipline)
- Two or more years of active echocardiography experience
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines
