Sterile Processing Technician – Operating Room
Location
Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols
- Support operating room teams by ensuring timely availability of sterile instrumentation and supplies
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and quality control records
- Adhere to infection control standards and safety regulations throughout all sterile processing activities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of sterilization equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience
- At least 1 prior travel contract experience required
- Active CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CBSPDT certification required
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrument handling, and OR support procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume or acute care hospital setting
- Familiarity with surgical instrument tracking systems
