Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown unit within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, identify and manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response team activations
• Manage complex IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, blood product administration, and vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including post-surgical and trauma presentations
• Perform and oversee respiratory interventions including ventilator care, tracheostomy management, chest tubes, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Maintain accurate documentation in an electronic health record system and adhere to isolation precautions and wound care protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission — pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross only — RQI cards not accepted)
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to work every other weekend as required
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, complex IV therapy, and high-acuity medication management including vasoactive and cardiac drip titration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
• Background in a teaching hospital or Level I Trauma center environment
