Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Days shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care to a diverse population in a Medical-Surgical unit
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess patient needs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records
• Float within scope to other Med-Surg and similar units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license
• BLS and NIH certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med-Surg nursing experience
• Ability to work every other weekend
• Excellent communication and clinical skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry
• Experience with post-angiogram and post-MI care
• IV insulin protocols and endocrine/metabolic case skills
• GI care including colostomy and feeding tube management
• Renal care, including pre/post-hemodialysis management
• Advanced cardiac and respiratory skills (e.g., chest tubes, CPAP, BIPAP)
• Experience with wound care and infection control measures
• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience
