Registered Nurse – ICU (Open Heart / Critical Care)

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide critical care nursing in a 16-bed ICU setting with targeted patient ratios of 1:2 for critical care and 1:3 for intermediate-level patients
- Manage and monitor patients requiring open heart post-operative care, including CABG and valve post-op patients
- Operate and manage advanced hemodynamic support devices including Impella and IABP
- Perform and monitor CRRT, continuous EEG, hypothermia post cardiac arrest, and prone positioning
- Read, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythm strips and EKG telemetry
- Float within the facility or to nearby affiliated campuses based on census and skill set, including high-risk respiratory and COVID units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Registered Nurse license or active compact RN license in good standing (no past disciplinary action)
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Demonstrated experience with vents, NIH stroke scale, IV starts, ICP monitoring, and conscious sedation
- Epic EMR experience required; must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment within 72 hours of contract signing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Level III Trauma Center or designated stroke center environment
- Familiarity with family-centered care models and high-priority customer service standards
- Experience caring for COVID-positive patients in a critical care setting
