Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Trauma (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36–48 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute care nursing to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patient populations on a dedicated Trauma Surgical Unit
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach tailored to each patient's specific needs
• Collaborate with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and a variety of surgical specialists to deliver individualized patient care
• Care for patients hospitalized for illness, surgery, testing, and observation
• Float to other units and hospital locations as needed
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Background in trauma, orthopedic, or urology patient care
