Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Palliative Care)

Contract | Days / Nights Rotating | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Day Shift: 7:00–19:30 | Night Shift: 19:00–7:30

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a palliative care unit focused on symptom management for patients with serious illness, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
• Deliver high-quality nursing care aimed at improving patient quality of life for those still undergoing active treatment
• Float to inpatient units of equivalent or lower acuity level as needed to support staffing and patient care needs
• Utilize the EPIC electronic health record system to document and manage patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and implement individualized palliative care plans

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission
• Active BLS certification required
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Willingness and ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Background in medical-surgical nursing with interest in developing palliative care skills
• Experience working with high-acuity patient populations across multiple unit types
