Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13–26 week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a primary focus on neurological and general medicine diagnoses
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, delivering safe, team-oriented care with a strong emphasis on patient safety
• Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for patient communication
• Float to other units within or near the facility as required; contract staff float first
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements, averaging every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
• Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Demonstrated teamwork approach to patient care with a strong focus on patient safety
• Willingness to complete pre-start online modules prior to first day (approximately 8–10 hours; non-billable)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
• Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
