Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule | Float to Med Surg required as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized intermediate critical care for patients presenting with diagnoses including DKA, Sickle Cell, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Stroke
• Function as a Rapid Response RN on the unit, responding to acute patient deterioration
• Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, administer Heparin protocols, and operate PCA pumps
• Monitor patients via cardiac telemetry and manage feeding tubes, CVA care, and IV access
• Operate specialized equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and Optiflow devices
• Float to Med Surg as needed (1:6 ratio); standard unit ratio is 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with recent ICU experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac telemetry, and Heparin protocols
• Experience with Rapid Response teams, feeding tube management, and PCA/CVA care
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Med Surg/Telemetry, titration of vasoactive drips, and care of ventilated patients
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• NIHSS certification
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems
