Registered Nurse – SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Surgical ICU/Oncology unit for adult patients presenting with complex diagnoses including sepsis, septic shock, hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke, ARDS, pneumonia, craniotomy, and intracranial hypertension
- Manage External Ventricular Drains (EVD) and perform ICP monitoring
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilation, Heated High Flow, BiPAP, and CPAP therapies
- Administer and titrate vasopressors and execute Massive Transfusion Protocol as indicated
- Manage tracheostomy care and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Accurately document all patient care activities using the EPIC electronic health records system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
- Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
- Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required
- Must not be a current employee of any Ohio State University hospital location; former employees must have been separated for at least 6 months
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted for this position
