Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite | Projected Start: 08/17/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care to patients on a 36-bed telemetry unit focused on pulmonary and respiratory conditions
- Monitor and manage patients with a wide range of lung diseases and injuries, maintaining a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy
- Apply expertise in respiratory skills alongside a strong foundation in general medical-surgical nursing practice
- Work every other weekend and holidays as required
- Float to other units or facilities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry or Pulmonary specialty
- Willingness to float to other units and hospital facilities as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
- Experience caring for patients with complex respiratory or pulmonary conditions
