Cardiac First Assistant Technician (Travel Contract)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3 x 12-hour or 4 x 10-hour shifts per week | On-call required (approximately 4–5 call shifts per month) | Weekend requirements to be determined

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as First Assistant in a high-volume operating room environment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties
• Assist surgeons during procedures including General Surgery, Urology, GYN, Spine, Neuro, Orthopedics, Robotics, and Vascular surgeries
• Perform assigned on-call shifts as required by the department schedule
• Float within the Main OR as directed by unit leadership
• Adhere to all unit guidelines, policies, and dress code standards including facility-provided scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of First Assistant experience
• Active CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) or CFA (Certified First Assistant) certification required
• Ability to fulfill on-call and weekend obligations as scheduled
• Demonstrated competency across multiple surgical specialties in an OR setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a large, multi-OR facility
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical procedures
• Proven ability to adapt quickly in a high-volume travel assignment environment
