Key Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as requested by physicians.
- Prepares and orients patients to procedures, ensuring patient care and safety throughout.
- Operates imaging equipment, monitors equipment functionality, and maintains equipment in accordance with manufacturer and departmental standards.
- Provides radiation protection for patients, staff, and self while performing procedures.
- Documents procedures accurately in written or electronic formats, maintaining proper records.
- Maintains supplies and a clean, organized work area to support efficient department operations.
- Participates in professional development activities, including continuing education and workshops related to cardiovascular and interventional technology.
- Supports patient relations by demonstrating professionalism, effective communication, and respect for patient rights and confidentiality.
- Adheres to safety policies, environmental protocols, and department procedures consistently.
- Provides coverage on an on-call basis as required, including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Current ARRT certification or eligibility, with New Mexico state licensure required.
- BLS certification from AHA.
- ACLS certification from AHA.
- 1+ years of radiologic technology experience preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of interventional procedures in cardiology and radiology.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular and neurologic anatomy and physiology.
- Basic computer skills and medical terminology proficiency.
