Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 5x8-Hour Shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:30; one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a corresponding weekday off

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish individualized treatment plans and provide occupational therapy interventions across a variety of inpatient acute care populations, including cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, trauma, and surgical patients
  • Educate and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members; make referral recommendations to specialists as appropriate
  • Delegate therapeutic interventions to assistants and technicians through written and verbal communication, ensuring appropriate skill level and competency alignment
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with departmental policies using Epic
  • Consider discharge needs, expected functional status at discharge, and appropriate equipment and supply recommendations when planning and delivering care
  • Float within therapy service lines as needed to meet facility demands

Required Qualifications

  • Active state Occupational Therapist license (Missouri license or compact license required; pending Missouri license accepted at time of submission)
  • Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience; acute care experience required, with Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across a variety of patient populations
  • Willingness and ability to float within therapy service lines as needed
  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility location

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center or large academic acute care setting
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
  • Experience with SPH equipment, vital carts, and ADL supplies
