Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Step-Down unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 (with occasional flex to 1:6).
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, and participate in emergency response as needed.
• Manage IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and PCA.
• Perform respiratory care including management of chest tubes, oxygen face masks, and non-invasive airway management.
• Provide wound care and wound vac management, and maintain isolation precautions per protocol.
• Fulfill charge RN assignments and holiday shifts as needed; float between departments, units, and facilities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license for both Kansas and Missouri, or a compact license valid in both states, required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Demonstrated experience in medical/surgical and telemetry work settings.
• Proficiency in IV insulin protocols, endocrine/metabolic management, and IV therapy/phlebotomy skills.
• Candidate's home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in cardiac telemetry or ER holding settings; familiarity with management of dysrhythmias and use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Experience with tracheostomy management, feeding tube care, surgical drains, and renal failure patients.
• Background in orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, CVA, and plastics/surgical drain management.
