Registered Nurse – Oncology (Acute Leukemia & Hematology)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
- Administer high volumes of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte therapies
- Monitor patients via telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and perform IV starts and central line blood draws
- Implement and maintain infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of overall nursing experience required
- Medical-surgical oncology experience required, with at least one inpatient hematology oncology position in work history
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Active BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, feeding tube care, and PICC line management
- Valid compact or Ohio state RN license in hand at time of submission; nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in an oncology or hematology inpatient setting
