Registered Nurse – Oncology (Hematology/Oncology Unit)

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Hematology/Oncology Med/Surg unit for patients with diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias; utilize Rapid Response Teams as appropriate
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and perform phlebotomy including central line blood draws
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
• Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and implement patient fall prevention measures; float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum Med/Surg experience required
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and line management (peripheral, central, PICC)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hematology/Oncology nursing experience strongly preferred
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
