Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required | Projected Start: August 2, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
- Monitor and manage patients via hardwired bedside telemetry equipment, ensuring timely recognition and response to changes in patient condition
- Care for short-stay patients (less than 24-hour length of stay) in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
- Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members across day shift staffing models
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
- Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Demonstrated telemetry competency
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent progressive care or step-down experience (within the past 1–2 years)
- Experience in high-acuity, high-turnover inpatient environments
- Positive, patient-focused attitude with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
