Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU stepdown/IMC setting with a 1:3–4 patient ratio, caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Monitor and manage patients with unstable hemodynamics, respiratory distress, post-rapid response, GI bleeds, withdrawal, and post-operative diagnoses including GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomy, neuro, and ortho surgeries
• Titrate and manage vasoactive drip infusions including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo
• Continuously monitor bedside telemetry, recognize and treat dysrhythmias, and manage patients on A-lines, BiPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
• Administer blood products, manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs, and follow heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Float as needed to a sister ICCU unit and participate in hospital orientation during the first week of assignment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Demonstrated experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response Teams
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), tracheostomy management, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license; must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems
• Experience with pre/post OB patients with complications, including Pitocin administration
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
